When is the best time to prune in Louisiana?
Late winter, roughly December through February, is ideal for structural pruning on most hardwoods because the structure is visible and the tree is dormant. Deadwood and hazard limbs can come out any time. Avoid heavy pruning on oaks in spring where oak wilt is a concern.
Will you top my tree?
